With Christmas only two weeks away, everybody is in the middle of their holiday shopping spree. Every store has some kind of “Christmas Special” that lures consumers into buying more and more stuff.
Last week, I gave you some tips on how to make your business more appealing to your target market holiday consumer.
Now, it is time for you to consider different factors before you go out and buy a bunch of stuff that you won’t give as a present or that you won’t use yourself.
First of all, you have to establish a budget and keep it. This can be done according to how many presents you are giving, how much are you willing to pay for a certain type of product, and the person that you are giving this to. You won’t spend the same amount on your parents than on your coworkers.
Then, when you are already in the stores, take a good look around. Find different types of the same product that you want and compare not only price, but quality. Sometimes it is worth to spend a little bit more when you can tell that you are getting your money’s worth, without going overboard. Especially if the present is for the in laws.
Once you are decided on your buy, ask about the exchange policy. You might think that you have the perfect gift, but we all have different taste and opinion. Don;t feel bad if you miss, at least your loved one will be able to get something that they really want and are going to use.
If you buy online, make sure that you get the shipping day right. With just a few days until Santa gets here, chances are that your gift won’t be here in time. Or, you’ll have to spend a little extra for express delivery. Evaluate if it is worth it.
With the excitement of the season, one can get a little crazy when using credit cards. Remember to stay inside of you budget and only use them for expenses that you know you will be able to cover at the end of the month. If not, you might be left in the position to have to return all of the presents that you got.
Is there any particular rules that you follow during this time of year? I want to know about them! And also, about your product development ideas! You can give us a Call 1 888 276 5688 or drop us a few lines.
